The Role of High-Performance Work Practices on Employees’ Innovative Work Behavior: Evidence from Hospitality Industry in Colombo District
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to provide
in-depth analysis to enhance the role of highperformance work practices (HPWP) and reveal
the association of these practices with
employee’s innovative work behaviors (EIWP)
Hospitality industry in Colombo district. In order
to meet this objective, responses were gathered
via a Google form survey questionnaire to
measure the impact of high-performance work
practices on employee innovative work
behaviors. These hypotheses were tested with
the help of data collected through questionnaire
that were filled out by a sample of 307
employees hospitality industry in Colombo
district. The data collected from employees
verified the proposed hypotheses and suggested
that the underlying high-performance work
practices have a significant positive impact on
employees’ innovative work behaviors (IWB).
This study is important for enterprise in Sri
Lanka that wants to increase knowledge among
HR practices and employee about innovative
behaviors, their relevance, and their impact on
productivity.
