Communication is a basic factor influencing employee satisfaction in organizations. There have been studies focused on effects of communication which have taken communication as a uni-dimensional construct. Among them there are few studies which have taken a further step to identify communication as a multidimensional construct. Although literature has introduced communication satisfaction as a predictor of organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) present study has gone deeper to understand the relationship between communication satisfaction and OCB in manufacturing companies in Sri Lanka. Downs and Hazen(1977)’s questionnaire has been taken as the audit tool to measure communication satisfaction and questionnaire developed by Moorman and Blakely (1995) has been taken to study individual initiative which has been identified as the construct which is related to communication satisfaction. A quantitative study has been conducted among 208 employees from several manufacturing organizations. The results were analysed using SPSS 16.0 and it was found that there is a strong positive relationship between CS and OCB and the strongest relationship has been found between OCB and supervisory communication construct of CS.
