    Abstract
Sri Lanka and Pakistan have been close friends ever since they won independence from the British. The defence partnership between Sri Lanka and Pakistan constitutes a key component in the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The Indian factor, and Pakistan's military culture have been deciding factors in determining the course of the defence relations.
